We all loved the Shrek movies. I don’t think there is a person that can honestly say they did not like them. Obviously you can complain that the sequels were not that good or that the short they made for Christmas was offending, or whatever. Things to bitch about we’ll all be able to find no matter what we talk about.

But taking everything into account you have to say that Shrek was a good series. And now we are very close to the ending. On May 20th this year the final chapter of Shrek, “Shrek For Ever After” will be on screen in a Cinema near you.

And with a release so close to us the directors just gave us something to drool on. Without any more presentation I give to you the Shrek 4 Posters (caution: they are extremely funny!):

Now tell me that wasn’t funny. And I know that a picture is worth a thousand words then a short clip is worth how many? It has about 23 pictures per second, that makes 23 k words per second… you make the math. I have not read anything about the movie that I can tell you so all that I know you will to after seeing the trailer. Enjoy:

A new R rated trailer was released for “Repo Men“. For those of you who are not acquainted let’s talk about a bit about the movie.

“Repo Men” presents an alternative future where human lives can be prolonged with artificial body organs bought from the usual bad guys the all time “company”, here called “The Union”, I think. All fine and dandy, until you can now longer provide the payments. This is the moment when the Repo Men come after you to get the organ back at all costs.

Jude Law is one of this Repo Men and toghether with Forest Withaker they seem to do a great job. Problem is that one day Remy (Jude Law) gets hurt in one of his “jobs” and he gets to get an organ from “The Union”. Now from what I see in the trailer, although you would expect a Repo Men to be well payed Remy is unable to pay for his life so he is going to do it with style, the fighting way.

Enough talk for the moment, let’s watch the R Rated trailer:

To be honest this trailer did not inspire that much as the original one did. All in all I am excited about this one. I want to see how Jude Law will pull off a performance in “Matrix” style and I’m especially looking forward to the performance from Forest Whitaker whom I enjoyed in almost every movie I’ve seen with him.

Yesterday night the new trailer for “Iron Man 2” was released. With no doubt whatsoever we can say that this is one the most expected movies of 2010 by fans of the comic hero Iron Man, fans of Robert Downey Jr. and not only.

The blockbuster, mega-hit of 2008 raised the bar so high for this one that I’m afraid this one will not even see the bar, never mind jumping over it. After seeing the new “Iron Man 2” trailer I’m quite sure that this will be an epic fail.

The plot on IMDB sounds something like this: “With the world now aware of his dual life as the armored superhero Iron Man, billionaire inventor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) faces pressure from the government, the press, and the public to share his technology with the military. Unwilling to let go of his invention, Stark, along with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), and James “Rhodey” Rhodes (Don Cheadle) at his side, must forge new alliances — and confront powerful enemies.”

Pretty predictable if you ask me. The thing is now we get a new super hero (played by Mickey Rourke) with possibly more strength then our beloved Iron Man and then the cute and funny Tony Stark will have to defeat an entire army with his charm, good heart and friends.

I really hope am I wrong about this otherwise a great cast that includes besides the already known from the first “Iron Man” Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle the lovely Scarlett Johansson, Mickey Rourke and Samuel L. Jackson will go to waste.

I have never been one to enjoy movies made after video games. Comic books, that’s a different story, but video games no. Some of us have already made contact with the saga of “Prince of Persia” video games and “The Sands of Time” is a really nice one which I enjoyed playing, because it had an interesting story.

Because of that story I look forward to “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time” and also obviously because of the trailer. From it I can guess that it will be a good “legend” type of movie with some well written line (as much as you can expect from this type of movie) and enjoyable storyline. See for your self:

We have a new comedy on our hands and it looks like it’s going to be a blast!

I know what you are thinking (yes, I can do that), just by looking at the poster you’re thinking “No! Not another parody about something!” Well it’s not a parody, at least this is not the impression it gave me, and no, it’s not a teen movie either (this what you will think after seeing the cast)!

“Kick-Ass” is about a teenage boy, classical nerd and looser of the school, which one day decides he wants to be a super-hero.Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) without any special powers, abilities, training or no reason at all for that matter decides one day he wants to be a super-hero. He makes out a costume beats some street thugs and the movie of him doing so gets uploaded on youtube and so a frenzy begins. Some of his friends also get themselves some costumes and so we get to a magnificent quartet.

And so we have our four super heroes:

1. Dave Lizewski aka Kick-Ass
2. Mindy MacReady aka Hit-Girl
3. Chris D’Amico aka Red Mist – Chris is played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse who you might know from “SuperBad”. This guy’s face is comedy enough for me!
4. Frank D’Amico aka BigDaddy – as you presume allready Frank is Chris’s dad. Cool right?

Also to be mentioned is the fact that Nicholas Cage is part of the cast as Damon McReady. I believe he can’t screw this part up .

With the ocasion of the Super Bowl, three movies (from what I know now) will have short trailers presented during the comercial time during half time. They will probably have the bigest rating a trailer has ever had so this is a big deal. The lucky winers are “Shuter Island”, “The Last Airbender” and “Robin Hood”. Thanks to the Super Bowl this movies now have a chance at beating Avatar in the box office. Anyway, here they are:

I have stumbled upon the trailer of the new Roman Polanski movie, “The Ghost Writer” and even though I did not understand much out of it, it caught my attention. 

With it’s release date soon arriving, people are already talking about “The book of Eli”. Since it’s starring Denzel Washington I don’t actually care what the professional critics say, I say this is going to be a good movie!
Set in a post apocalyptic future, in the year 2034, the action is centered around Eli (Denzel Washington), the holder / owner of the last bible, that he knows of. Eli guards this bible with his life, believing that it will redeem the remaining humanity. I really don’t know more about the movie except what you can see in the trailer.
The thing is that critics have decided to make out of this movie an example, so that producers will understand that we are kind of bored of Apocalypse movies, after the “brilliant” “2012″ and “The Road”. The second I have not seen yet, and I don’t believe I’m going to.
“Variety” magazine, although not giving a proper review, but more of a summary of the story, they rated “The Book of Eli” with a C and consider this will not be one of Denzel Washington’s (who is also a producer here) money makers. “San Francisco Chronicle” also rated the movie with a C, but is more indulging with it and considers it to be a bit better the the other apocalyptic movies we see everywhere with a more “dynamic action”. It considers “The Book of Eli”as actually the story of the clash between good and evil, humanitarians and dictators, and enlightens us in how culture can reconstruct a society. The best grade “The Book of Eli” gets is B, and one magazine I will mention here. Michael Phillips from “The Chicago Tribune” although laughs at the predictability of the movie he appreciates “it’s scale” and how the characters “breathe”. He considers the movie is quite simply better acted and has a better story-line then the other “end of the world” movies.
As stated before even with bad press and stuff, I can’t wait to see it! I will most likely come back with a review as soon as possible.
