“From Paris with Love” Review
March 3, 2010Length: 94′
Personal Rating (1 to 10): 8
After recently seeing the Travolta movie, “Old Dogs“, I just saw “From Paris with Love” and I have to say this was a nice surprise.
“From Paris with Love” is an action filled, comedy filled, Americans kick terrorist’s asses filled, delightfull thriller.
James Reece (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) is a personal assistant for an U.S. Ambassador in Paris, but with a dream to become a real secret agent for his country. One day the opportunity comes when James has to drive around, agent Charlie Wax (John Travolta) who comes in Paris with the mission to stop a terrorist attack.
From his first appearance as agent Wax, Travolta makes a “tasty” impression, as he argues with the customs officials. Through the entire movie Charlie initiates James in the secret agent life and teaches him to stop worrying so much, as he might miss out on important details (spoiler alert:) like the true color of his fiancee (select text to see).
“From Paris with Love” even though doesn’t come with anything actually new to the scenery of this type of movies, is a really enjoyable high speed action movie that really manages to “suck you in” for the approximately hour and a half it plays. The lines are really well written, catchy and really funny and the entire story is actually well thought, dramatized at parts (Neo from “The Matrix” would be jealous on agent Wax) and very few flaws.
Verdict: worth watching! Reason: Relaxing and well put together movie.
