“Old Dogs” Release Date 09/25/2009

February 26, 2010

Unfortunately another movie that I expected holding my breath after seeing the trailer disappoints me.

“Old Dogs” is a “comedy” that is centered around an episode in the lives of life long friends Dan (Robin Williams) and Charlie (John Travolta) when they have to deal with taking care of two kids.

8 years ago Dan had a one night stand, just after his divorce, which he now finds out produced twins. Right in the middle of a big business deal Dan and Charlie are now stuck with taking care of two 7 years old kids.

“Old Dogs” is a comedy that takes an old idea and tries to spice it up but fails. The script brings nothing new to the scenery, just takes jokes from there and there, predictable ones, and mixes them up together. As expected the story is predictable and the “love and morale” story is there. Travolta and Williams have a decent performance, actually a pretty good one, but the story itself doesn’t let them do more.

If you have a couple of friends over, drink a coupe of bears, you might enjoy this movie but otherwise I do not recommend it. Trailer bellow:
