“Edge of Darkness” Release Date 01/29/2010

“Edge of Darkness” is the latest movie starring Mel Gibson. It’s a thriller about a Boston detective, Tom Craven (Mel Gibson), who’s daughter, Ema, gets killed. At the beginning everybody believes that Tom was actually the target for the murder but further investigations done by the grieving father show a conspiracy in the company where Ema worked.
“Edge of Darkness” is the type of movie that does not waste time on setting the decor and gets you right in the middle of things. I think Ema’s murder takes place in the first 5 minutes or so. I liked the fact that it jumped from one important fact to another and did not waste time on the emotions Mel Gibson was feeling. I guess the general idea was that as long as he was working on finding the truth behind this death he did not think about the pain. Even so, the moment when Tom Craven, shaves and he sees his little daughter’s image besides him, from my point of view that was expressing and showed that Mel is a good actor.
Thing i did not like: As it got close to the ending it took a “Die Hard” sort of turn, but digestible.
