"Surrogates" release date 25.09.2009 – review
October 5, 2009
It was rather nice but not what I expected.
Let me explain: First of all the story is not that all so new as I thought from the trailer. The basic Sci – Fi Ideea is that humans will leave their lives with the use of machines, the so called “surrogates” and will not leave their bedroom so no actuall interaction between humans. So far so good, nothing to special about this.
There are also groups of people that refuse to use them and leave in “surrogates free” areas and they toghether with their leader, “The Prophet” want to save the world from the horrible thing that is a “surrogate”.
Now, you might wonder where the hell is Bruce Willis in this entire story. Well in a perfect world a crime ocurs! someone, with a new type of weapon, managed to kill the owner of a surrogate just by “frying” the robot. Tom Greer (Bruce Willis) is a cop that investigates this murder and is soon to find that there is more to surrogates then just machines that help us do things we couldn’t have done before. He is soon to find a conspiracy that goes all the way up to the inventor of surrogates and so on.
Tom, is “unlucky” enough that he has to go in the outside world without a surrogate as his is destroyed in a “surrogate free” area. And all other kinds of twists and plots… Bruce Willis (which doesn’t give a hell of a performance, not that the role requires one) manages to save the world in the end (oh no! I spoiled it for you guys!) in his “Die Hard” way and funny enough in a morale way (this I’ll let you find out).
As an overall it’s a medium class movie, but worth watching if you have some time to spare.

That rss option on your website here is magnificent, you should tell more folks about it in your upcoming post. I haven’t noticed it for the first couple of times, now I’m using it every morning to check on any updates. I’m on a real slow dial-up connection in Germany and it’s rather daunting to sit there and wait for such a long time ’til the page loads… but hey, I just found your rss page and added it to the Google Reader and voil? – I’m always up-to-date! Well pal, keep up the good work and make that rss button a little bigger so that other people can enjoy that as well
