"Don’t go into the pimped out fridge, Jack!"
June 17, 2009For some reason I like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. He is not the greatest actor, but he tries and he is kind of funny. Since the moment I saw the trailer of his latest movie I knew it will not be a breathtaking one, but because of him, and some good jokes in the preview I put “Race to Witch Mountain” (release date 26.06.2009) on my “to see list”.
Last night I managed to see it (well not all of it because I fell asleep, in part because of the movie, but I finished it today) and was not surprised in any way. If you see the trailer you can consider you’ve seen the movie.
It’s the all time good team winning in the end plus some nice extraterestrials. Ex con, now with good moral integrity, Vegas cab driver, Jack Bruno (Johnson) takes the two teenagers (who “fell” from the sky) in their journey to save Earth from being invaded. Obviously they get into some trouble but in the end all ends well, nothing special here.
I can not criticise the movie in the way I wanted to because I always knew what to expect from it and I can’t say I didn’t laugh a couple of times (I liked the two Star Wars wannabes getting in his cab at the begining of the movie).
